A one-session club (or Unit) Swiss Team concept called 'Eight is Enough' is popular around the ACBL. The "rules" tend to even out the experience factor among teams and therefore make a more competitive event.
It works this way:
Stratification limits are set prior to the game. For the Sunday series games,
the masterpoint range for each flight is as follows:
A = 2000+ B = 300 - 1999 C = 0 - 299
Flight C players are assigned a "1", Flight B's a "2", and Flight A's a "3".
No team's total can be more than Eight (8).
Thus if a top pair (both a "3") wished to be on the same team, they would have to play
with two 'C' players to keep their total to eight. If one of them played with three 'C' players,
their total would be six. Four 'B' players would total eight.
When setting up the game, stratification will be by the average MP's for the team.
Note: five and six person teams are allowed.
